Select one of the bricks and scrub to frame where you point to a Kinect with the corresponding device. Below the 'actor' you'll see two bricks floating around-these represent the controllers. Load your motion into iPi Mocap Studio, track the body, make any necessary edits, remove jitter.Ĥ. Point each PS Move (or Wii Motion Plus) at a Kinect (it doesn't matter which one.) Start acting.ģ. Hit record and get into a T-Pose and wait for the countdown to end (if you have it enabled.) (Note: to self-they need to add a sound cue.)Ģ. (Press the PS button turns them on holding down the PS button for 12 seconds turns them off-handy for saving battery power.) When you're ready, here's the procedure:ġ. I have some good news and some bad news to report-hopefully the bad will be short-lived.įirst the good: Wrist tracking with the Moves is awesome! After you've paired them with your computer, it's just a matter of switching the devices on whenever you need them. been loving this software but just hoping I can get a better handle on it.I've been fully focused on using iPi DMC 2.0 this past week. and it always ends up with animation problems like I described above (knees facing the wrong way, arms/hands not working, etc).Ĭan anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance. I'll do my best to describe my workflow and maybe someone can correct me where I went wrong.ġ: Create new Maya project and import both the model/rig as well as the iPi export.Ģ: Define the turbosquid model/rig's skeleton (the download from Turbosquid includes the rig and IK, but doesn't have them defined?)Ĥ: Connect the turbosquid skeleton's 'Source' to the mocap export skeleton. However, I always end up with problems such as knees facing backwards, or my arms/hands not following the ipi rig. I've tried my best to follow the tutorials outlined in the iPi Motion Capture wiki + documentation. One is the rig in Maya that I'm working with (bought on turbosquid), and the other file is the FBX motion builder export from ipi mocap studio. Here are my working files for reference: I come from a VFX background, not a modelling/animation/rigging background, so while I know the basics of Maya, there's a lot I don't know and I'm getting stuck trying to connect my mocap export. Looking for some guidance and assistance on getting my mocap rig to work properly in my Maya rig.
